What will happen during my first appointment?

At your first appointment, we will run through a brief consultation before we start the treatment. This will allow me to understand a little more about you, your current health situation and what you would like to achieve through your treatment/s. The more information you can give me, the better I can tailor the treatment to your individual needs. Please be assured everything we discuss is confidential. Please allow an extra㺏 minutes at your first appointment for this consultation. A complimentary lifestyle consultaion is available apon request.

Is there anything I should do before I arrive for my treatment?

Please ensure that your last meal was at least 2-hours before your treatment time. If you are currently on any medication, please remind yourself of the name of your medication as this will be asked during your consultation. If you are taking any medication that you may need before, during or after your treatment, please bring this with you.

How long will my treatment last?

An approximate time for your treatment is listed on each treatment page of this website and within our Holistic Therapies leafelt. However, please allow an extra 15 minutes for your first treatment, this is so that we can complete your consultation prior to your treatment.

How may I feel during my treatment?

During your treatment you may feel calm, peaceful and totally relaxed. It is not uncommon for clients to feel sleepy or a little emotional. All these things are perfectly normal.

How may I feel after my treatment?

After your treatment you may feel relaxed yet refreshingly energised. Certain aspects of your life may appear clearer and your mind more focused. Your blood circulation and lymphatic drainage may be increased, promoting a feeling of general well-being. You may also experience a ‘Healing Response’.

I have heard about ‘The Healing Response’ before, but I am unsure exactly what this is. What is this and will it affect me?

The Healing Response is a where one feels slightly worse before feeling better after receiving a treatment. For example, you may feel achy or tired, get a headache, feel nauseous or thirsty, experience a little dizziness, have hot & cold flushes, feel emotional, have a runny nose, experience more frequent urination or break out in spots. This is part of the detoxification process whilst your body is rebalancing and cleansing itself and it is perfectly normal for these symptoms to last up to 3 days. However, because we are all different, you may or may not experience this. To reduce the likelihood of feeling such symptoms, please follow the 24-hr after care advice below.

What should I do after my treatment?

For 24-hrs after your treatment please remember to:

  • Drink plenty of water or herbal teas
  • Rest or sleep if necessary
  • Eat light meals
  • Keep smoking to a minimum
  • Cut back on caffeine, tea, fizzy drinks
  • Do not carry heavy bags or loads
  • Eliminate alcohol consumption
  • Avoid stressful situations and long distance driving
  • Resist the temptation to suppress any aches and pains with medication
  • Try a hot bath, gentle stretching or breathing exercises to further aid relaxation *
  • Allow the oils to absorb into your skin**
  • Avoid direct sunlight or heat treatment***
  • Avoid swimming ^
  • Keep your ears clean and warm ^

    Notes:

    *           Do not soak in the bath if you have had an Aromatherapy Massage.

    **         This applies to Aromatherapy Massage only.

    ***       This applies to certain Aromatherapy oils only. You will be advised if your treatment has used an oil blend that this applies to.

    ^           This applies to Hopi Ear Candles only.

How can I pay for my treatment?

You can pay for your treatment by either cash or cheque on the day of your treatment or by PayPal (click here) anytime prior to your treatment.

What happens if I am late for my appointment?

Arriving late may limit the time for your treatment thus reducing its effectiveness and your total enjoyment. However, this may not be necessary if there is not another client after you. Please telephone 01548 844 855 or 07941 508 004 if you think you may be running late.

What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment, please give at least 24-hrs notice to avoid possible cancellation charges.

What should I do if I have special health considerations?

If you have any health conditions you think may effect your treatment, please mention this when making your booking. In some cases a doctors referral note may be required, in some cases it might be possible to adapt your treatment, in other cases it might be necessary to recommend an alternative treatment, however it may not effect your treatment at all, so it is always worth mentioning before you arrive. In particular, please advise if you are: pregnant; have an injury, allergy or infectious disease; are taking medication; have recently had surgery; have a history of thrombosis, embolism or phlebitis; have cancer, diabetes, arthritis, paralysis, epilepsy, haemophilia. If you think you may need medication, for conditions such as asthma, angina or diabetes before, during or after your treatment, please remember to bring it with you. 

I have sensitive skin. Can I still have a treatment?

Yes. If you have any health concerns, it is possible to do a skin patch test 24 hrs before your treatment. As long as there are no adverse reaction then it will be OK to continue with your treatment. 

What is the minimum age to receive a treatment?

Many of the treatments can be received by children with wonderful results. However, if you are under 16 years old, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and a parental consent form must be completed before the treatment can be carried out. 

Where shall I park when I arrive for my treatment?

There is parking for several cars on the road side just outside the studio/ house. Please feel free to use what ever space is available, pull up behind an existing car if necessary. 

My friend and I would like to book a treatment together. Is this possible?

All treatments are carried out in a dedicated, home-based treatment studio. Space is limited, but it is possible to offer treatment to up to two people at any one time. Please note you will both be in the room at the same time. Please click here for further details.

I would like to pre-pay for a treatment as a special gift for a friend. Can I do this?
